Greyphase
I fish for stream smallmouth, rockbass, & sunfish using small plastics that I pour. Was getting low on what I thought was No. 4 Gamakatsu extra wide gap hooks so I ordered some. Just got them today and found out that they are an 1/8" longer from the eye to the bend (old ones are 1 1/16" new ones are 1 3/16" ). The new ones are the same size as the No. 1 XPS hooks I ordered from Bass Pro. Does anyone know of a hook manufacturer that makes a small wide gap hook? Thanks in advance. woodsac
There is no industry standard for hook sizes The size of the hook is based on the gap. You might wanna try #4 Owner Rig N Hooks. I don't use hooks that small. But, I think the Owner's are a little bit shorter in length than the Gammies.
Mr B
I use the #4 Owner Rig-N-Hook when I need to go small. I split shot 3" Magic Worm Micro Weenies w/ 4# Test w/ them in ultra clear lakes. It is a nice small hook w/ a good bite. It is also pretty light so it wont mess w/ the action of the bait. Mr B
