lure_learning
I recently purchased some Hi light Green from MF and was surprised to find it looks like pearl. I haven't poured anything with it yet to see if it changes color. Is this normal? I guess I was expecting a fine green powder. thanks! woodsac
Don't worry...it's normal They all look like pearl white until they hit the plastic. Even then, sometimes the color won't be visible until after you've started to heat the plastic and mix up the powder. Remember, a little bit goes a long ways! lure_learning
thanks woodsac How much do you suggest I add per cup of plastic? Is it ok to add before heating? thanks
woodsac
It's better to add it before heating. Start with a smidgen or a dash Just a little bit. Less than the size of a pencil eraser. You can always add more after the plastic is cooked, it's just a little harder to get it mixed up.
lure_learning
thanks again! I have been doing some searches for the answers to my questions but some are difficult to find. The latest question is: how much stabilizer per cup of Calhouns plastic. I have seen some varying opinions on this. Anyone have a concrete number that is succesful for them? thanks, I hope to help out in the future when I have more of a clue.
woodsac
If you're using regular Calhoun's and not the tube formula, you shouldn't need any stabilizer. But for just a single cup at a time I would think no more than maybe a tsp? I add about 1 oz of stabilizer to a 5 gal bucket
