dvowell
I've tried several brand and can heartily say: Go to Del's site and purchase some Calhoun's. For microwaving, it's the best I've used. I'm not paid to say that, either! :-D

cotton
Should I get the soft pour or the tube plastic?
dvowell
Unless you are making tubes, you definately want to get the soft pour. Depending on how soft you like your baits and if you're adding salt or not, you probably want to get some softener as well. -D
jm
Are you planning to pour soft baits, or tubes?
harley-cowboy
Calhouns is the best I used! JUST MIX IT VERY WELL!!! THEN MIX IT AGAIN. Here is a great website that gives you all the info you need: http://www.del-mart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=
Mojo
I'm going to speak up for MF Plastic. I use the supersoft and it ROCKS! I had to add softener to every cup of Calhoun's when I went through my 5 gallon bucket, but the MF doesn't need any. There are many other reasons I prefer MF. No bubbles, almost no odor, scent is more effective even when using less, square 5 gallon bucket with a pour valve means I don't have to transfer it to gallon bottles to use it. It takes more heat without worrying about scorching, stick baits come out suuuuuper soft even when adding alot of salt, and the company is 2 hours away! When the price of Calhoun's went up it made MF's plastic only $4 more for five gallons. I can pick it up and save shipping, so I can buy more colors with the money I would have spent shipping it. Plus, being closer to central US (TX) their shipping costs are cheaper for the East Coast guys. Just a few of the reasons off the top of my head that I'm sold on MF. cotton
where can I purchase MF plastic?
woodsac
You can find links to all the suppliers in the sticky at the top of the forum. I would recommend Del's tube plastic for salt water baits. You could always add softener later for softer worms. That's easier than adding hardener. sj_bill
I use Dell's tube plastic for all my saltwater swimbaits. We target rockcod in NorCal and they will beat the snot out of softplastics. Rockcod are simular to snapper you might be targeting in AL. For reds and specks soft might work but you are going to be replacing them a lot.
