Senkosam
Is there another source for glitter other than Lurecraft or M-F. Lurecrafts service stinks. I went to Glitterex corp site, but no sources were available and I'm not sure they would sell retail. Sam
Haebar
You're not the first person I've heard say that about Lurecraft. That concerns me because I am about to order a couple of hundred dollars of stuff from them. What is it about their service that has been a negative experience? I've been looking for alternative sources for glitter too. It seems expensive when you consider what it is, just precisely chopped up mylar or plastic. I haven't been to craft stores yet to check it out there. The few ebay auctions I found for glitter weren't any better than Lurecraft's prices. earthworm77
Frank, I'm afraid LC is the most complete store for this by far. They do suck at C/S but it is a trade off.
alsworms
Sometimes I hear about guys who buy glitter from craft stores. The one thing I can recommend is you MUST buy a glitter that's polyester coated. Otherwise, every color you mix will burn and turn brown. I learned this the hard way when I bought glitter from Walmart one time. Just make sure you read the package and look for that key word......"Polyester". SRPLASTICS
I have never had a problem with customer service at Lurecraft, Dave has even rushed custom molds thru for me, the problem with the glitter providers (same one Lurcraft gets their glitter from) is that there is a minimum which is usually 10 pounds per color per size. The smaller guys it would take several yaers to use up that much glitter and for larger companies just a few months. I suggest you talk to Dave directly at Lurecraft to resolve your issues, that usually works. Good Luck.
Fireball Lures
I have never had any problems with Lure Craft either heck I just call tell them what I want and tell them who i am and it's here in 3 days every time. And if I order the wrong part number they tell me to just send it back no problem. I've worked with Dave and Lori with no problems for the last 3 years. Senkosam
The second order was never submitted until one week later. Lori blamed it on UPS, but scanners don't lie. The order for glitter and dyes, I called in on Tues. and will be lucky to get next Tues. EW is probably right - not too many sources, competitive prices, the best variety and what you order is what you get. M-F is too expensive but I wonder if they'll match LC's prices. (They have the finest plastisol for almost the same price when ordered in a 5 gal. qty.) Glitterex Corp sells holographic and good mixes of glitter, but at a premium price through craft stores. I need large glitter (.062) in certain colors as well as string glitter. My motto is when the service stinks, as well as the excuses, spread the wealth. One of the sites that has good glitter mixes is creativebeginnings.com. I've used their glitter for many worms with no change in color, but they only come in .015.
