whitley
I'm looking to buy large quanities of plastic. I have been ordering 5 gallon buckets from Del but the shipping is killing me. I live in Washington, what would be the best way for me to get plastic and where?
harley-cowboy
Del, M-F, Lurecraft... They all sell 55 Gal drums. You think shipping is high on 5 Gal???? Wait til you see what a 55 gal will cost. AND NOW WITH GAS so high, Most are charging a SURCHARGE.
millsryno
My concern with 55 gallon drums is mixing and dispensing. Is everybody transfering all the plastic for the drums into buckets immediately? Is there a spigot to do this?
D.J.
I live in washington too. I think shipping is just one of those expenses we have to deal with. We are in zone 7 I believe. Which means we have the highest shipping rates. Lucky us
pourboyplastics
Calhouns sells there 55 gal drums for around $400 but shipping charges are also a few hundred dollars and more if you don't have a loading dock where the truck can back right up, then an extra charge will be for a lift truck. You also need to buy a pump type of system to get the plastic out of the drum, its not like you can move it when it weighs over 400 pounds. whitley
How does everyone who uses the 55 gallon drum mix and dispense into smaller quanities.
harley-cowboy
I was informed you can mix the contents with a oar or a paddle. The proper way is with a squirrel cage mixer WEB SITE IS HERE(http://www.squirrelmixer.com/models.html). To dispense... WELL get a barrel pump. BUT MIX VERY VERY GOOD before you dispense EVERY TIME!! Hope this helps.
james bradshaw
The Calhoun drum is now $550.00 a drum, plus shipping. The cost just keeps going up! I mix my drum with a paint mixer, with a long shaft, and a 1/2" drill, then transfer to buckets.
