plumberroy Posted September 21, 2005 Report Share Posted September 21, 2005 I made a plaster mold [small jig body]and tried it today melted new worms I don't use with a couple used jig bodies to pour I had a problem with the thin parts filling and if i pour the directly they were thick what am I doing wrong? BigZ Posted September 22, 2005 Report Share Posted September 22, 2005 Sounds like your plastic is not hot enough to fill the extremities of the mold. If, as you say when you pour directly in the thin parts it comes out too thick, not enough heat would definitely be indicated. You might also want to wedge something under the mold so that the plastic runs from the thin parts to the thick parts. Hope this helps. BUT if the worms you remelted have a lot of salt in them, it is difficult to pour in small, thin areas. Try some new raw plastic and try again. Make sure you have the temp around 350 degrees. rico.29 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Share Posted September 23, 2005 i've had the same problem when pouring thin part with old lures, to me it's not a question of t? but it's due to kind of plastic, raw plastic shoud be more liquid when heating.
