Bass1cpr
I'm just trying to get some other Ideas for watermelon I hae lurecraft watermelon but I'm just not happy with the way it comes out. I'm heating on a hot plate using the small pouring pans. I've used up to twenty drops in a pan but still not getting the results. I've tried adding pumpkin but still not getting there. Anyone have any other suggestions. I've though about adding one or two drops of white to get the opaque effect. Anyone have any suggestions. basskat
I'm not sure which shade of watermelon youre looking for. The best match for Zoom's had been Del's "Light Watermelon" with a drop of black for me. Lurecraft's is a little too green for me.
nova
I use LC'S motoroil to get the watermelon I like.
saint308
Like basskat I use Del's light watermelon and some black. If I am looking for some darker watermelon I will add more salt to give it an opaque look. Dark watermelon with purple flake on a carolina rig, that is the stuff right there. Good luck. Saint. Bass1cpr
That's what I'm looking for Ideas without wasting a lot of plastic. Sounds good but I'll have to wait for awhile before I can buy anymore colorant. I've been cheating it for a long time by remelting Green pumpkin and adding fresh platisol. Works pretty good but time to make my own. Saint, you read my mind. I have two other mixes of that, One is really good if you've got a dark watermelon or a remelted green pumpkin. Add just a little bit of .015 Chartreuse flake. I use .015 on the purple flake and add three dashes to a pan of plastic. I stuck a nice 18 incher today in that color with a shakey jig worm. It's so much fun to catch em on something you made. Thanks for the help.

I'm just lookig for Ideas to doctor it up as I'd like to use up what I have without just making it to waste. Thanks.
borderbasser
Watermelon is my favorite color, and i've worked real hard at trying to get it just right. My recipie is a little more of a pain, but I'm finally completely satisfied. 4oz plastic 8 Del light watermelon 4 LC forest green 1 LC watermelon It is a little darker than some, but not so dark you have to hold it up to the light to see that it is not black. If you like watermelon candy, stick with the Del coloring and substitute the forest green with some MF watermelon brown. I don't remember my exact recipie for Wat. Candy, but that will give you something to work on. TJ
basskat
Colorant is cheap compared to everything else. I very seldom mix over 4 ozs at a time. If for some reason I mess it up it doesn't cost as much.
texasbass1
I use 10 drops M-F Emerald Green and 1 drop black in 1 oz of plastic. It makes a good watermelon for me. A little greener than some but it works for me. I never try to duplicate a company color, it will drive you crazy.
saint308
My recipe for Watermelon with a more translucent tint for watermelon seed is: 2 oz. MF super soft 7 drops Del light watermelon 1 drop Del Black 5 dashes salt 2 pinches black flake You can darken this up by adding more black or more salt. To get the closest to Zoom watermelon red I use: 2 oz. MF super soft 7 drops Del light watermelon 2 drops Del Black 2 drops Del Red 3-5 dashes salt as much red & balck flake as you desire The watermelon red recipe is off of the top of my head. It may be a little different, but I don't my recipe book with me. Hope this helps. Saint.
