D.J.
I get real close with L.C. motoroil. I just made a batch of lizards in this color and it is almost exact. Hope this helps.
vishezfish
HOw did you mix how many drops? Did you use watermellon and motor iol? Thanks
D.J.
I don't remember the exact amount of drops. I had a different recipe for this color before, but I decided I liked Zoom's color better. I used just motoroil colorant, black, green, and purple flake. Test it out after every couple of drops until you get it. The black flake makes it look darker than it is so don't over do it. This is a killer color. vishezfish
Thanks dj, still confused though..... Are you mixing the motor oil with watermellon?
harley-cowboy
First off... "ALL" recipes are different for this color. YOU need to expirement to get the color you want with dyes and flakes. I'll share my recipe with you and see if you like it. My customers "LOVE" this color. Plastic : 4 ounces Mix : 3 drops MF Watermelon Brown 2 drops MF motor oil Lots of small & medium purple flake ( .015) 1/8 tsp each medium red flake (.025) 1/16 tsp medium black flake (.025) 1/16 tsp medium blue flake (.025) 1/16 tsp (or a little less) large green flake (.040) 1/16 tsp I mix all my flakes in a jar first and keep them on hand. then just add a TSP to 4 oz of plastic. (much easier that way to get the mix). If you are adding SALT.... put a drop more of each dye in the mix. Hope this works for you. YOU SEEM DESPERATE! BigZ
Wermie Ernie is on the right track with watermelon brown. I had some brushhawgs in a bag this color, from what I see, they have purple, green, red ,gold and blue glitter in them. I bet they vary from batch to batch. I use 2:1 watermelon brown (MF) to 1 drop LC watermelon to make watermelon candy. If you are trying for the zoom color make sure to add salt to your plastic. 4 oz plastic I use 6 drops wm.b. and 3 drops wm. and about 1oz salt...works for me. Don't be scared to try green pumpkin candy either, works like hell on the local lakes here. I think candy is just a term for "a bunch of different colored glitters".... vishezfish
Thanks wermie ernine and all! I actually made it ok this weekend... I didn't use motor oil though,... U are right on when you say colors vary... I actually used mg emarald green, watermellon and a little bit of delw pumpkin,... It looked like the color version on mizmo.com for watermellon candy minus the purple flake... I have to order some... But it did look good!
