Shmang
I am looking to make a spoon type bait for white bass. I was hoping to take a size 4 willowleaf spinnerbait blade and use two ton devcon epoxy a to secure a hook to to it. Will it hold? I am trying to avoid drilling a hole in the blade if possible due to time constraints.
texasbass1
You would have to give it a try and see. I've never tried that trick
cheesehead
I would solder or braze the hook to the blade. it's a proven method.
Pop
Soldering is the way they make the shad spoons.
earthworm77
Matt, lomg time no hear!!! Soldering the hook shank is the way to go. Often times manufacturers will pop rivet the hook eye as well. Epoxy will break up and if you are fishing white bass they will knock the spoon around pretty good ultimately breaking the epoxy.
