BigZ
I was wondering what everyone else is using for the fall bite? I picked up a ton of fish on Al's Worms Toad grub in a custom watermelon color wednesday. THANKS AGAIN AL! I have been running 1/8 oz texas rigs with a 1/0 owner EWG in shallow weeds and that seems to be the ticket out here. They are a PITA to cast in the wind but hell, they catch fish! Even Crappies? The only other colors that work right now are smoky blue shad and green pumpkin/copper metallic. What works for everyone else, everywhere else? :

harley-cowboy
Well, first of all my favorite would be to fish ALL YEAR w/o ice on the lakes here in NE PA. It has been nice weather lately and we are still in the boats. The only thing we have been getting bass on are jigs and beavers T-Rigged with a split shot about 18" up. Caught a few on suspended jerkbaits, too. COLORS... Beeverz are WHITE TRASH, jigs...black/blue. Jerkbaits, Jackall 100 mask and Rapala in blue/chrome. I CAN'T WAIT FOR APRIL ! ! ! ! BigZ
Those baits are murder, when nothing else works, they do. I have to agree on the brown and green, but smoke and purples have to be in the bag too.
DaveMan
I have been having decent luck with Reapers lately. I just got a mold, so I am pouring a bunch. Smoke with red and blue flake, and light purple with red flake both seem hot right now. Purple in the evenings, and the smoke during brighter conditions. Pumpkin works okay, but not as well as the smoke and purple. Green or blue didn't do much. The reaper seems to be a great fall bait, as it is quite large, and lends itself to a slower presentation. I let it flutter down slowly, and move it a couple of times a minute at the most. THe bait seems to have a lot of action while just falling. It is also effective, because I can really work suspended fish well with it. I have also tried dead sticking it, and the smoke and purple ones are very effective. THe pumpkin must blend in with our mud, as it never got a strike while laying on the bottom. I am also having good luck with small stick worms in blue, with a Methiolate tip, and in pumpkin with a bright red tip.
