LJMLuke
Hey guys, I am having an awfull time trying to get a watermelon senko. I have tried for awhile with no good results. I made some a while back but didn't write it down. I have sice gone through over 5 mixes and I'm not close. All looks good untill I add the red flake, then it turns very dark(lure craft flake). I am using 1/2 cup plastic, 12 drops heat stab, 1 1/2 teaspoon red flake, and 6 drops watermelon color. I have also tried 9 drops, 12 drops 18 drops 24 drops. I am also using 1/3 cup salt. I add the salt first and it looks good then the flake and it turns on me. Luke
woodsac
I would try adding a lot less watermelon. If it gets dark when you add the red flake, try starting your color lighter. Try 3 or 4 drops of watermelon.
earthworm77
Luke, put the salt in just before you pour. As you stir it in go with the flake. I had a similiar problem when I wanted to add scent to my pot of watermielon...it would discolor and turn yellowy on me. I have since added scent just before pouring. Cut down on the heat stabilizer by half.
