dragline
Has any of you guys heard of an applicator of some sort to apply epoxy? - for example - when gluing lexan lips to wood blanks (as in large Musky baits). Its possibly some sort of tube applicator? Any info is appreciated. thanks Dragline
dlaery
I have one I got from 3M. Works good. But, you have to keep moving or it will set up. The applicator was about $50. You have to have a mixing nozzle on the end, they are about 75 cents each. Once you use a mixing nozzle, you have to throw away. Too hard to clean out. The 2 part epoxy comes in many different cure times. they are about $12 for a 50ml tube. I have used Devcon and pull it up in a 3 cc syringe and have used that. I get the syringes at a farm supply for about 15 cents each.
BobP
I use a strip of plastic cut from a credit card to insert epoxy in the bill slot. Work it around so that all surfaces in the slot are coated. Similarly, a piece of stainless wire works for the hook hanger holes. Cut a paper towel into small pieces to wipe away excess epoxy - one swipe per towelette so you don't get stray epoxy where you don't want it.
