bassbuster
What is all this talk about Senkos? It's like everyone uses them now. I don't understand why so many people are going crazy over them. Can someone please tell me what the deal is with these. I need some help here. Thanks
Elken
They are expensive and tear easily... but they catch fish. They have a nice shimmy while falling when rigged weightless, and a subtle action when rigged on a drop shot, jighead or Carolina rig. They catch a lot of fish... If you want to find out about Senkos, you need to try them.
bassbuster
So they are pretty much like the Zoom trick worms :
BB
from one bass buster two another.i will say it's the best lure i have used in years.and have had great results this summer.i fish them weightless most often.i have to admit i aways hated fishing rubber lures until i tried the senko.there are many knock off brands for half the price that you can use.they work just as well.i have a few dink bass senko pic's i can post.they are well worth a try. bassbuster
Thanks for the info BB, now this might sound stupid, but where could I purchase them?
BB
just about any decent size fishing store will have them.the original senko by Gary yamamoto{spelling} or the knock off brands.Gary y has a web page you can check them out.i like the 5" gary y's in 222 color.or the knock offs in light brown with black specks and a yellow tail.but most colors work well. bassmaster1974
Green pumpkin w/emerald and purple flake w/chart tail.It is a core shot senko and will kill the bass in the south.I have used that color from Beaver Lake to Kentucky Lake to Eufaula.Just hard to beat.Even in clear water. lilcraw
GOOD TIP to any wacky worm (senko's) rigging is to use shrink tube on them, like said above they tear easily, buy some 3/8 inch shrink tube at a local hardware or elelctric shop and cut it about 3/8 inch sections stretch your wacky worm alittle and slide the shrink tube over it to the center and heat it with a lighter till it tightens around the worm then hook thru it, when it does get bad just pull it out and stretch another one and slide it thru the tube, works GREAT,,,,, I started doing this about 3 years ago and you will find they last ALOT longer, now instead of going thru bags of wacky worms in a tournament I am only using a few all day long. I like the watermelons and green pumpkins colors, believe it or not I have found that the Wave Worm has the BEST action on the fall, they seem to have alot more vibration then all the rest for me, but again that is my opion. stumpjumper83
I used them when fishing on a remote lake up in Canada, and wow... they catch fish. We were rigging them weightless w/split rings in the center of the worm. I think its called wacky riggin. Anyhow we would just flip them out and let them sink over rocks and they would usually never make it to the bottom. The color was a dark green, and they were infused with garlic and about 5" long. We also had some knock offs, they worked, but not as well. Hey best thing I can say is try um.
One Sock
I have been making my own baits for a while now and there are a ton of guys on here that make and sell them, some are better than others. I fish them everytime i go out and they never seem to disappoint. The hand pours from some of these guys are even better than the original GY's due to varrying fall rates, softness and color selection. don't waste your 5.99-6.99 on the Gy's when there are so many out there for half that price, some of the guys who sell are even willing to send out some samples Use any color you want as long as it's green pumpkin candy:)
