captbob
Would any one know what the weight is on this bait? Thanks Bob
Coley
WOW!! Did you make that beautiful thing? Truly the work of a craftsman. Great job!!!!!!!! Coley
woodsac
Actually, Coley, they are no longer in production. They sale on E-Bay sometimes for as much as $300 each! I posted your question to another board where a lot of the guys use to throw them. I asked for the weight of the 9", as that is the only size that I know of for the hard bait. woodsac
Well I've only had 1 reply, and they thought it was 5oz?
captbob
Guys thanks for the replies, A friend of mine ask if I could make him something close to the orignal Castaic hard bait. I have found some info on the bait like the pic I posted earlier but can't seem to get much more. I did read that some of the baits like this are up to 7oz. I don't know what type of wood that was used. I have started one using balsa and i guess i will keep adding weight till I get it like I want it. Heres a pic of it befor adding hook hangers and weight. I will post new pic when finished thanks Bob
