chirmy
A little off topic, but does anyone have experience with these used with your GPS/fishfinders? Any pro's and cons would be helpful
basskat
I have a ram mount on the console gps/lcr unit. There was not a spot on the console big enough to mount my unit so I had use the ram to extend to an area big enough. I've had no problems with it. It's great for this problem or if you need it higher, lower, etc.... I would not use one unless it was needed. Just extra expense.
Elken
I use one on my boat and like it. It allows you to adjust the location/angle of a GPS or locator easily, yet doesn't slip.
BassnG3
I use a hand held gps that way it can go with me wherever I go if I am a non boater. The RAM mount allows me to place the gps in any position that I want it to and it never comes out including rough water. I don't think you can go wrong buying a RAM mount. chirmy
Thanks guy's, got one and am very happy, went out and it does well with almost no vibration Elken, seeing you are from Idaho, ever fish Lake Lowel?
Elken
Yeah, I live about 5 miles from Lake Lowell. I don't fish it as much as I should though... Are you fishing the BASS Regional Qualifier there this year? It is mainly largemouths with a few smallies thrown in along the dams and a few other rocky areas. In the spring the water is way back in the trees and bushes and there are lots of flipping spots.
basskat
That's why I use one myself. Ranger's just don't have enough room to get a good sized depth finder on the console.
chirmy
2 things; Ellken, make uure when that lake opens in April you get out there a little more lol Basskat, with that name who would have thunk ranger lol, yeah the unit I replaced hung over the edge but the cool thing was I only had to drill 2 holes for the mount as it fit 2 of the old units holes and the antenna fit the other two. Came out clean just need something to hide the hole the wires now come out.
basskat
I have a peiece that covers the hole. Not sure where it came from. Call Ranger, they should be able to send you one.
