jigmeister Posted January 2, 2006 Report Share Posted January 2, 2006 I would say you should keep the weight directly under the front line tie or maybe just slightly forward of the belly hook hanger for best results. The axis point of the bait will be at the line tie and the further you move the ballast weight away from this pivot point the more it will tend to kill the action. mark berrisford Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2006 THANKS FOR THE REPLIES .HAD A GO AT WEIGHTING A BLANK I HAD AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED THE BLANK WAS SHAD SHAPED AND ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG WEIGHTED IT AT THE NOSE WITH A COUPLE OF RATTLE CHAMBERS AND A BIT OF LEAD SO IT SANK SLOWLY AND FIXED THE LINE TIE ABOUT AN INCH FROM THE NOSE AND IT WORKS OK,WILL HAVE TO MAKE A BIGGER VERSION NOW AS ORIGINALY PLANNED Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
