icejigs
I am just getting in to making my own lures I am trying to put a loop at the end of my wire to fasten my hook to. I bought the round nose pliers but i keep bending the hell out of the rest of the wire . is there a better tool or method to this or should i just keep practicing? Thanks
bassn1
An easier way might be to pound two finishing nails into your work bench or use a scrap board. One nail is for "the stop" and the other is for "the bend". Bend the wire 3/4 around the nail, remove the wire and put in your hook. Close the loop with your pliers and trim off the excess. You can use a nail set up like that to make to make your "R" bends for spinner baits. It's crude but it beats spending a ton of $$ on a pro wire bender.
