sherirandy
Guys I am wondering if there are any products in craft stores that can be used in melting soft plastics. I am looking for Colors and glitter? I have a Michaels and AC more close by. I am sorry I am guessing this has been asked before , I did several searches before asking this question. Delw
For glitters not to many work cause they melt in the hot plastic. I have had good luck with the brand stampenous but its expensive, they do have some awsum colors though. on colors, someone on here said they used there wifes oil paints, and he gave the brand name as well. Ive never tried those so I dont know. I have used candle dyes both in the wax blocks and the liquid bottles. it works but you must mix it when the plastic is cold, you will form time to time get a chuck on the colorant in a clump so make sure you stir it extreamly well Delw
alsworms
The main thing I learned about glitter is it has to be polyester coated. If it's coated with polyester, it will withstand the heat very well. If you don't see the word "polyester", don't buy it..........unless you want all your baits to turn brown. I've been told that some craft stores carry polyester coated glitter, but I haven't found any around my place. The few stores that are nearby carry nothing but the cheap stuff. Matt
I have tried with great success in using fabric dye, in particular Rit. It comes in a powder form, and doesn't require a lot to use. I'v also heard of using powder form eye shadow, I have never tried it myself. Bad enough I have to pick up the female hygene stuff, don't want to had that to the list if I can avoid it.
Dungeonhawk5
used some of my girlfriends pigment last night... the reddish on the picture below was a color generated from her pigment.. it works... pigment is super expensive though... there are cheap knockoffs but she uses MAC which is about 20 bucks for a SMALL container.
