chiefdano
I coldn't find in the past posts about using bolts to secure a 2 part mold while curing. I haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of putting 2 bolts in opposite cornes of the first half of the mold with the head burried into the material. Then when it dries, add the second part with enough of the thread protruding above the 2nd part. then when it is cured and ready to use, use a piece of thick rubber or metal across the two bolts and secure it all with wing nuts. This way it would keep it tight and secure. Maybe a little cheaper tha using clamps, maybe it wouldn't work at all. Jus brainstorming here lol. Your thoughts? GB GONE
I just use a couple of rubber bands on my 2 part plaster of paris and resin molds... They work fine.. Jim
borderbasser
I did this with a two piece plaster mold I made and it worked out well. The only difference was I put a bolt in each corner. It hasn't happened yet, but if anyone does this with plaster, be careful how you tighten the bolts down so as not to crack your mold.
