test tank

Recommended Posts

Hi Guy's, I'm back. We are in our new house and my new garage / workshop should be completed by the end of the month. I hope to get my spinnerbait and buzzbaits up and running in about a month or so. My carved lures are another story. All my info and notes for each bait was lost and I will have to start from scratch. Since I will no longer have a pool to test baits in, I have been thinking about a test tank. Looking back at some of the post, I like the idea of using a circular tank with the wheel on top , so that the lure moves in circles. Keeping that in mind, has anyone tried using a protractor on the side of a tank to help calculate the depth a lure might go? I know speed as well as line weight will be a factor, but would there be some formula that could be applied to calculate depth range based on the angle a lure dives in a confined space? Thanks, Joe
