Bluegrass
I've been reading this site for a while now, lots of great information!! I'm pretty sure I'm ready to attempt to make my own lures. Just wanted some opinions on what to start out with. I know I'm going to start out with stik baits, but would it be better to get a kit or just get the material separately?? I saw a great kit on Del-Mart that includes the mold. I like that one, but it's $93. Is it good for beginners? Thanks for any and all responses.
shaggy
I would say to defiantly start with a kit, that way you get the basics to start pouring. Than the sky's the limit, so to speak. I just recently got my kit and it was awsome to just read over the directions and in about 5 minutes, I had my first lure. Probably the best part of the whole thing is, if you mess it up the first 50 times or so, melt it down and pour it again. As for DEL'S kit I do not think you could go wrong, if you find out you don't like pouring your own lures, EBAY it and get your money back. Just one mans thoughts
charkins
I vote for a kit also. It is enough to get you started and let you find out if you like making baits. I want to warn you though, this hobby is as addicting as heroin!! Now don't say you weren't warned. Del's products are great! Shaggy was right, you could get most of your money back on Ebay if you didn't like it. Be sure to check out the color formula topic at the top of the list on this forum. Good Luck! Bluegrass
Thanks guys, I'll be ordering a kit soon. I've already checked out all the color formulas, even printed a couple of pages out so I won't forget them when I start. Thanks again!!
