All wholesalers will require a retail licence and to see your licenced in your state. you can do a search for tackle wholsalers on the net. there are many most are not worth it. contact all the main manufactures of the products you want to sell and ask them who is there wholesalers. in order to get good pricing you need to purchase in quanity one of this and that wont cut it( most ont allow it and will have some minimum orders like 500 -1500) you will need to have a store front, if you dont have one( they will request a picture showing address and sign) they wont sell to you. to get one started up bare bones your looking at probally 10-15k min. just to lightly stock it. If your thinking of starting one just to get a better deal for you and a few buddies its really not worth it and its a big hassle, besides you wont save that much unless you buy in volume Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Building a business out of a hobby can be a wonderful way to come to hate your hobby. Business has tension, deadlines, liability, high expectations, and usually a requirement to work in volume...and that's just for starters. I've ruined a few hobbies for myself, including photography, by turning the hobby into a money making proposition. Running the business successfully means a lot of hard work. You must ask yourself if that is what you really want. Of course, running a business unsuccessfully means losing money. Be very clear on your goals and don't underestimate the time and money commitments it will require to engage in a serious business.
