respectmyauthority86
I have to go to a family reunion this summer but the good new is its right by a lake. They said they stock it with pond many times a year. Has anyone fished this lake. If so please let me know need to know if this is going to be worth the pain I will suffer meeting the family. I was thinking about getting some Huddleston Deluxe Swimbaits if there are any bass in there.
northrivergeek
Lots of Bass in there ... good population of smallmouth. Depends on when your going what to use. When water is below 55 hard to beat a suspending rattlin rouge, that and hair jigs with small pork trailer. I have fished Fontana a good bit .. Ive always done well there. My best day there was 18 smallmouth, with fish between 2 - 6lbs
respectmyauthority86
So there are no largemouth bass in the lake or just hard to find. I was going to fish using some big rainbow trout swimbaits.
northrivergeek
There are largemouth, but smallmouth is king there.. you could try rainbow swim baits, could'nt hurt. but trout is far from the primary forage in the lake, shad and crawdads primary forage
BuMMeRBaits
I have fished there for Largemouth, Smallmouth, Pike and Muskie. I lived right down the road from it for a few years while I was in college. My grandfather and uncles have been fishing it for years and years.
