Custom Aluminum Molds??

I have some custom baits drawn up on Autocad that I would like to have cut. Contacted 3 machine shops and they gave me BS on programming charges, I thought they had software that will convert the file automatically and upload to there CNC machine?

I have ordered molds from Del, but I am hesitant to send custom orders over in fear that it would be reproduced for others. Has anybody had del cut custom molds? Is there privacy waivers?

You can be sure that Del will not reproduce you bait for anyone without your permission. Your design will be safe with him.

autocad wont get you anywhere, a programer still has to program. basically the only thing your gving them is reference points in 3d ( a 3d blueprint) and thats it.

your autocad file if properly made will give perfect spec points just liek a blue print. which would be more acurate than just handing someone a bait.

Yes there are converters however if you dont do the org autocad file 100% correctly then there machine is crashed and it cost them lots of money to fix it. it has alot to do with layers and tools, not just lines.

this is one reason while you will never see someone taking a autocad file and just converting it and running it.

Go read that post I made somewhere about custom molds and how its done , it might shed some light on the subject.
