Marty Gutzman
I have been told that worm oil you buy from Del or Lurecraft is just plain old mineral oil(unscented). I have also read that you shouldn't use mineral oil because it will dry out your baits. Does anyone have first hand experience using Mineral oil and what effect it will have on baits. I tried some 2 weeks ago in some baits I made and so far I don't see any problems, will it take longer to show up? Any info would be great. nova
Don't use mineral oil. It will turn your worms into pencils, lol.
Delw
I can tell you for a fact that Del-mart and lurecraft doesnt use mineral oil for worm oil.. I have used both ( well Of course I have used mine) but I have also used lurecrafts and even MF's and they are not mineral oil. mineral oil does exactly like nova says and also bleeds baits as well as make them soft and sticky
BASS8BAITS
Mineral oil will keep baits soft as long as the bag containing the worms is sealed. Leave the bag open for a day or two and the baits will become rocks.
Jackllbass
Johnson's Baby Oil works as good as anything, I have been using it for over 30 years on my plastic baits, don't get an off brand, get Johnson's.
