WVaGitzit
Vinny, can you tell me how you make these? It seems simple, but pics of them never show the back side of that blade. Maybe some close up shots of both sides, if you could. thanks

macstackleman
You want to make a killer chatter type bait? I used a .015 stainless steel material for the blade and modified the mold so the blade will fit onto the hook before molding! NO SPLITRINGS PLEASE!!!! Kills action. You'll love it!!! I do. Bterrill
You want to make a killer chatter type bait?I used a .015 stainless steel material for the blade and modified the mold so the blade will fit onto the hook before molding! NO SPLITRINGS PLEASE!!!! Kills action. You'll love it!!! I do. I wonder about this. I fish streams, many days the fish flee from the path of the chatter. So now I usually throw it in last, unless Smallies prove they are agressive with it. The Chatters with the split ring don't hit the head so there is less thump. Maybe this will mean less spooked fish? They still kick out plenty of vibration but not as much. The orginal, non split ringed style catches big fish for sure, but has just as many days when it scatters a hole. Anyone else find the split ring versions snag up easier? One things for sure, the trailers, hooks, and skirts on the original suck. First test run with my new CB (split ring) netted a couple of nice Smallies 17.5 and 15.5 in some super high muddy water, so far, so good. Crymdawg
When I make my chatter type baits I'm having a REAL TOUGH time keeping the split rings from getting bent apart and not staying tight together (the wire ring that is). I'm using a #2 size ring as per the people at JANN's and their brand of jig which I beliece is at least a 5/0 cross eye design. I've also found that the paint ontheir pre-painted heads gets "TACKY" after being handled a lot. Any one else have these issues or a suggestion. Real Deal Custom Tackle
I use the heads with the open wire and put the blade directly on the head. Eliminates the split ring need. If you would like more information send me a pm and I'll direct you to my website where I have some pictures.
