reelnmn
Hi all, this is my first post on this board, and just wanted to thank everyone who made the tutorials and who have posted on these forums. My first question is about melting different plastics? Can 3x lures be melted down and used in plaster molds? To be honest, I tried this myself without thinking about safety hazards, etc. and the bait did eventually melt but took nearly 3-5 times longer than regular plastic. Also I never got it to a consistency to where it would pour...it ended up being more of a slow ooze as I poured it...this was after about 6 minutes in the microwave. Any suggestions? Once again thanks.
basskat
commercial plastic is completely different from hand pour plastic. I wouldn't suggest remelting it. Some works fine, others catch fire! (I know from experience) Also the fumes off some of this stuff is some kind of nasty.
creepycrawlerz
i tried remelting the 3 x plastic and made some great craw chuck's, but the fume's are very bad, so i don't think i would try it again, made me dizzy, also could be toxic. once was enough for me. but the chuck's were nice, can stretch that 3'' chuck to 20'' no problem.added my own scent's, can't wait to try it out this spring.
