tactical bass
Well since signing up here I wanted to act on some plans that I've wanted to carry out for a while... learn how to dip tubes and make my own molds... I've experimented now with both and I'm friggin loving it! Been melting down old plastics that I'd probably never use again... it stinks like hell but it'll have to do til I order my plastic from Del. Here's my first crack at a resin mold of a sweet beaver. Thanks go to Woodsac for providing the tutorial here on TU for all to benefit. I have to fix a few things on the mold but not bad for a first try at it. What do you think? texasbass1
Good looking mold. How well do the flappers fill?
tactical bass
TexasBass1, well in hindsight I should have spun the flippers around 90 degrees like most knockoff beaver baits... they're just too difficult to get out of the mold without stretching the hell outta the bait. And as you can see from the outcome in the first pic, the spike at the end of those flippers stayed in the mold so no way to get them out now. Oh well, live and learn. These are just for personal use anyway so I won't be too picky about them TB
