finlander
did a google search and found a few places to buy from. One place listed some specs and water absobtion was one of those listed. Anyone hear of this 'problem?'
BobP
Maybe Lexan (a brand of polycarbonate) absorbs tiny amounts of water but it's the most durable clear bill material. You can soak it in water for a long time without it affecting it. I've found lures snagged on the bottom for months before their hooks rusted off and floated the lure, and the polycarbonate bills seemed as good as new. Brett
I've had zero issues with any polycarbonate I've used. Right down to 36 degree water,, still with stood the punishment. I imagine if it was absorbing water it would turn a different colour, which I have never seen.
cullin8s
if it does absorb water it doesnt change the attributes of it, no swelling or loss of strength.
woodieb8
. the only thing with lexan is it will become a little more briitle with freezing water such as 32 -33 degrees fareinheight. other wise its reall awesome stuff
fatfingers
I recall reading somewhere that even monofilament fishing line absorbs water but only to a microscopic degree.
