Jason Penn
Anybody know how to make these skirts or where I can get some like them? I think they're $4 for 3 if you buy the Terminators. They look like they are just wrapped on the skirt collar, but I don't know if they're glued or melted.
robbor
One of the big skirt companies. I along with many other have called and talked to them. They eill not sell them, they have an exclusive contract. The skirts are silicone but the centers are a special cast part with a flare on the bottem I. they ore obviously glued togather. they center pieces do not dry out like surgical tubing. If you had someone who really knew plastics they could probably tell you what type of plastic and glue. There is a guy on ebay that sells some under "silicone skirts" but he only auctions and will not sell direct. I contacted him for some white skirts and would buy for fair price, he said he did not have any, and would contact me. the next week he had some on ebay but not a peep and would not outright see them. Jason Penn
Thanks robbor I'll look for them on eBay. I've just about come to the conclusion it would probably be easier to just tie them like War Eagle does.
BassAssault
I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but Z-man Fishing makes EZ Skirts. They are fused together with a silicon that will not break down. You can find them at www.zmanfishing.com or call 1800-822-3398 and have them send you a sales sheet. Hope this helps. robbor
and the top of the skirts dont look so hot.. And they are a buck a piece so why bother, you can buy terminators for the same or less, but that is still to much. If you were making spinnerbaits and components cost a buck a piece you would be out of business.
Jason Penn
Thanks for the link BA, I'm with robbor that's the same price as the Terminators. I'm not planning on going in business, but I'd still like to save money. I'm only doing this for me, all the other folks I know that bass fish are too tight to buy a $4 spinnerbait. I'm trying to find out where to get blades like the BPS XPS blades. I like the finish on these and like to use them, but they're $.70 a piece. Between these blades and the Terminator skirts I'd have $2.70 in a bait without the head, beads, clevis or swivel!! I think Strike King uses the same blades on their premiere model SBs. I'm sure that someone has them I just don't know where to look.
smalljaw
Maybe this will work for you. Go to www.barlowstackle.com and buy the large skirt umbrellas. You make your own skirts then through a simple device, place the skirt onto the umbrella. Now you have a quick change skirt plus the umbrella really flares the skirt out and they're inexpensive. As for the blades you can go to www.luremaking.com and get their economy bulk blades. In my opinion they are great blades if you don't want to use premium price blades. I use the small coloarado blades on tandem blade baits. I put a hildebrandt willow leaf blade and then use the economy coloarado to cut down on price and they work great. Jason Penn
That's probably the easiest way to do it. Thanks for the help everybody.
