Dipping tubes

Recommended Posts

If you were going to pour your own tubes in 3-4" length, how much of that would be tail and how many tails/strands would you want it to have?

Can you tell or show me a popular tube style so I can get an idea? We can't get real thin on the tail strands for a hand pour without injection. Might be possible to lay in some silicone skirt material if you want real thin tails in different colors.

I don't nor have ever fished tubes except for the little ones for panfish. How would you rig a big tube or in other words for the topic, how thick would the plastic in the head area need to be?

John 3:17 is just as good, I will agree with you there.

We make our own baits, but we are a two man operation. We consume most of our time injecting skirts for the tubes. Right now I am going to be working on a web site and marketing things. I will agree that it is interesting and fun, but for me its a matter of allocating the little time I have effectively. So instead of reinventing the wheel for three times the cost I choose to purchase them, just a personal preference

For me making a lure is worth it if its priced to high, can't find the colors you need, lure doesn't have the action you like, or you just want to burn up the winter months. Burning up the winter months is how we got started and now we turned it into a small profitable business so I guess my opinion is biased. Plus I know Terry is a good guy and don't mind sending customers his way.

Midgeman - Couple of weeks ago they had this topic come up and a guy posted some pics. I beleive he made the fixture from a shower drain cap and some stainless tubing. Check these links out, it should give you all the info you need.
