bassnfool
How many pours, or what is the life expectancy of a homemade silicone mold?
nova
Are you talking homemade or LC's?
bassnfool
I mean homemade from two part silicone.
robbor
the silicone mold should probably last forever if they are not abused or overheated.
bassnfool
I was hoping that was the answer. Thanks a lot.
ominousone
O.k. I have no idea... what's 2part silicone? Also, I had terrible luck with silicone, maybe I was using the wrong kind of silicone. I was trying to make a fluke mold and all I made was a big mess and two empty tubes of silicone.
charkins
I used an LC lizard mold 3 years ago to the point where the baits were no longer shiny. I tried putting them in the oven and other suggestions that I received here on TU and from LC. I finally threw it away. However I did make a whole bunch of lizards. That was about all they would hit that spring. Cal
CrawChuck
I finally received the 1-to-1 (2 part) RTV Silicone ordered from MicroMark. Sitting here looking at it and I'm almost scared to try making a mold... Scared it will be awesome and I'll have to buy some more, LOL...I can make 25 plaster molds for what I paid for this stuff. Gonna try giving it a wood backing (the mold halves) so they're ridgid and maybe I'll use less. Don't know what to try first
