RockfishRand
Well just got a nice email from the folks at DO-It molds, they don't have a 6oz Shad head, sorry. I guess the 6oz Shad heads I purchased recently are from an altered jig someone did. Anyone know of one out there? Can I special order one somewhere? Thanks, you guys are awesome on this site and I'm enjoying the hobby alot. I poured (50) 3oz and (50) 4oz yesterday. (Can you tell I'm a rockfishing fan)? Elken
They aren't cheap, but these people have some 6 oz. shad head molds http://www.shawncollinscustoms.com/jigs8.htm#RubyLipsJig
RockfishRand
Thanks Elken. There are no barbs on his jig to hold the plastic shad bodies on. I wonder if I could modify along the area where the hook shank sits, and add some barbs. Thanks again.
reeves
I have a question while you are on the subject of shad head jigs. I have a request to make a mold (for spin casting) of a 24oz. shad head jig. That is a pound and a half of lead and would probably make my machine sound like a washer out of balance when casting them. Is there such a thing that big? If there is, what size hook do you use in it? Where can I get a sample if it does exist? Seems to me, they want to hit the fish on the head and kill it rather than take it the sporting way.
