Party Crasher
Have any of you tried this 3.5 inch split tail mold from Bob's Tackle Shack? It looks like a "Sweet Beaver" type bait. Also, how are you fishing this type of bait? Texas rig, jig trailer, ....? Any feedabck would help. Thanks!
ominousone
is that mold a two part? I'd really like a two part beaver mold.
GB GONE
I use them and pour them all the time. They are great baits for jig trailers, texas rig or even drop shot rigs. Roadkill is a great color for up your way along with the watermelon green, ren flake... Jim
Travis
I am fairly certain it is a flat sided bait. Most everyone is pouring the flat side from what I come across. I have been told that you can get the two piece also but will have to ask for that one. They really aren't than hard to mold. Durhams does just fine for a two piece if care is taken during the molding process. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/TravisH/DIY2piece.jpg
bassnfool
That mold is a one piece but pours fairly easy. The tip of the side fins need a little care. I've also been pouring a black body with blue tail. It's a really nice bait.
Dave V
I pour the 3.5" and 4.2" model. Great bait and very versatile. I use them on jigs, t-rig, Carolina rig, dropshot and even as buzzbait and spinnerbait trailers. They keep the buzzbait up and are great when slow-rollin' a spinnerbait. Party Crasher
Thanks for all the tips, guys. I spoke with him (Bob, of Bob's Tackle Shack) on the phone about a two piece. He can make them but he says they dont pour. I guess you would have to have some type of injection equipment to get it to work. So, I bought the one-piece.
