Babe
I'm new at this plastic pouring, so I hope these questions don't sound dumb? 1. If I put softener in liquid plastic and I find that what I'm pouring is to soft, can I add hardener to make an adjustment and firm up the plastic? 2. I know some of you say to put rattles after the plastic cools, but if I put the rattles in during the pour, will the temp of the plastic effect the rattles? Thanks in advance for any info. alsworms
Yep - you can mix hardener anytime if you feel the plastic is too soft. Done it many times myself. Just keep in mind that it takes a lot more hardener to mix than softener. The mix rate is about 1 part hardener to 2 parts plastic. When you find the right mix, make sure your write it down so you don't have to bother with that again. Softener and hardener are both expensive materials! I seldom pour with rattles anymore, but I've never had any problems with pouring hot plastic on them. Just make sure you buy rattles that are specifically designed for soft plastic baits. Hope this helps Chris
