RiverMan
This evening I had the pleasure of speaking with a gentlemen that lurks at this site often. He has apparently posted several times but for the most part chooses to just read what others write. The thing is that this guy has an amazing amount of woodworking experience that would really prove helpful to others here including myself. He has techniques that I have never read about at TU. He told me that he generally doesn't like to post because many of the "experts here have their own opinions on things". If I am one of those people I apologize! Please lurkers, if you have something to say chime in!! There is always "another way" and "a better way". Jed V.
FishPork
I believe that you become a stuborn person when you think your way is the only way. For example/ The man who invented suspend dots still tries to get the correct weight in the baits before he has to use them. If that makes any sense to ya? Ive been making my own baits for about a month or so and all I have done is read this site and tweak things to fit my style and ability. I must say that everyones opinions and disagreements have saved alot of us research and development time. In short/HA HA/ Please keep criticizing giving opinions because this is what I have been using to get me to the level I am today!
Tally
Excellent point Jed. I wish more guys would post their ideas also........I understand that some things are closed lipped but hell the most that can happen is someone says you are wrong........and who cares. If you want to post......please post. I read all posts and make my own decission on if they are worth my time. Tally

LaPala
I was a lurker, then contributed some, now I'm lurking a bit again LOL. True, we are learning everyday. There are so many disciplines to master in making a lure if u should think u know it all then u are doomed. Lets all chime in, sometimes even obscure bits of info comes in handy, lights up that bulb in ur head LOL. Example, I just learned something from my dentist the other day that went into making this (don't ask me yet what is it, I think I blew a fused there somewhere the other day ):

WVaGitzit
Sorry, had a comment about the actual topic here. I am new to all of this and have yet to make my first lure, but on occasion, a topic will come up that is related to making lures, that through other experience, I have some knowledge about. So I will comment on that if I deem it to be helpful. It may be not much but if it helps then great, if not no biggie.
LaPala
LP i wish i was as motivated as you. You got too much time on your hands LaPala wisdom, "The day u're not motivated to learn new things, ur lure making days are DOOMED!!!" WVaGitzit: Will do in good time, now experimenting with color mix to get the exact color I envisioned, tougher than I tought
siebler_custom_baits
LP you know i am never motivated to get started. Once im started ill get into something though. Luckily new designs are not hard for me to get into starting, however sending the proto to travis or swede takes months so i still dont have the molds
