maximusgunn
Twobits The easiest way to do it, is get some hitch hikers and attach them to the eye of your jig head. You can get the hitch hikers from Janns Netcraft. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/spinnerbait-hooks/071065100004.aspx Or you can modify jig head mold. Party Crasher
I cut a very small slot in my mold that accepts a straight piece of .024 wire right where you want the wire pig-tail to come out. Cast the jig and pull the wire out right away. Think of it like a really small weedguard insert. Then I make the pigtails by winding smaller wire (like .020) around a knitting needle about 1/8th inch diameter. Leave a tag end and then I epoxy it into the head. I don't paint mine but I think you could without fouling the pigtail too bad. I'm making two dozen at a time so it's not too bad. If I were making a lot I'd grind out a spot in the mold for the pigtail to be cast into the head. Also, before I saw the pigtails, I was making the same thing with a straight wire sticking out. I'd just bend a little hook on the end to hold the worm better. Nonestly, they worked just as well without having to deal with the pigtail. I am using a 3/0 Mustad 60* flat eye.
