overkill
Does anyone know how the wire harness is made in some of the swim baits that hang treble hooks off the bottom, such as castaic, huddleston deluxe, and even Storm has some now. Thanks in Advance

redg8r
just bringing this one to the top to see if anyone has any new ideas "Bumping" threads arent permitted here, but to help with your question: Alot of harnesses are made like a "through wire", anchored [or cast] in the leadhead, or hard section of the swimbait. The ones that dont use split rings likely have clearance in thier molds to allow them to pre-rig the treble to the wireform, cast the leadhead, then fit it in the soft plastic mold for injection..... treble hook, jighook, leadhead & all. I recommend adding a split ring to the wireform so you can change out your hooks, if need be. Some manufacturers even use a heavy mono instead of wire. Hope that helps. Big Splash
A tiny brass tube can be used to cut a hole through the finished plastic bait, then a small plastic tube is glued in place with soft plastic glue. You can get both from hobby shops that deal with modeling. Here is a discussion about it. http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=465&highlight=rigging+swimbait
chirmy
I saw this first hand and it worked. Some of the baits out there dont harness the hooks. They have a hollow tube (possibly connected to the lead weight insert) which allows for your line to slide directly through the nose and ties directly to the treble (A very large treble). This allows the hook to play the fish freely seperating from the lure. Good luck.
