bdomina
I remember seeing a thread that mentioned using Oil Paints for colorant. Has anyone ever heard of using this and do you know how they turned out? I am in need of a starter set of colorant. Any suggestions. Should I buy an actual kit or specific colors. thanks again, Andy
dampeoples
I think there was a post about someone using their Bob Ross paints as colorant, but i also don't think there was a follow-up story. The colorant is made specifically for coloring the worms, why not just use it? If it was not lost, there was a soft-plastic cookbook thread, read through it for the colors you want to make, and get the colors to mix from that. charkins
My suggestion is to get a kit from Lurecraft, Del, or someone else. You could even put a kit together with a 3 or 4 Lurecraft molds with some of the colors that YOU know that YOU like to use. I would get more than one mold, because your going to get tired of pouring the same one pretty quick. A jar or two of glitter of your choice would be nice too. If you need some color ideas, let me know. I think I can put together a list of 6 or 7 "gotta have" colors.
bojon
Years ago I wanted a color that I couldn't make with my dyes.I cut thin pieces of oil pastels,Hobby Lobby art section, and made a yellowish brown color. Melted these chips into the hot plastic.and it worked just fine.I prefer using the dyes, but if I can't make the color I want then off to the oil pastels I would go.
