help needed!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I need help! I've just been given some soft plastic worms and craw imitations. Problem is that soft plastics have only just started to be fished in this country (New Zealand), so there isn't anyone here up to speed on on how to fish them properly. Are there any helpful tutorials or websites online, or anyone care to explain the basic rigging and fishing techniques to me.

I put a post in the fishing tips section but haven't had any replies so have posted here as well.

All help appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks guys

Have learned a heap from those sites. Can't wait to get out and try the new baits.

Do any of you guys that pour soft plastics sell overseas? The craw imitations that I've got are really neat but I've only got a couple. They are Lake Fork brand I think, what would these cost to buy in the States?

Thanks again

Kiwi, I'm definitely not the plastic guru, but I do have total confidence in my baits. Especially my crawdads! I've caught dozens of bass from as little as 8" to as big as 6 lbs on my dads. I generally use them as a jig trailer. I just started making a new finesse worm that I've been testing for about 2 weeks. I really like the results.

If you are interested, I will send you a sample pack of baits at no cost. Sort of a promotional type thing. :D Let me know what you think. All I really need is an address. If you don't want to post it you can send me and e-mail or PM me through this site.

Kiwi, be sure to keep us posted as to how you do with the new plastics. This summer I was met on the shoreline by a tourist from California who recognized that we were locals, and he asked about the fishing. He asked what to use, then admited he really only had a lot of soft plastics, and would they work here. I told him they weren't in common use here, but to try blacks and silver colors. Then the old fellow says he will be fishing from a float tube. Now this is all taking place on a huge interior lake where even a 16-17 ft. boat can be rather small.

Sure enough, the next day the fellow met us at the beach when we came in. He proudly anounced that he had caught a nice rainbow trout from the float tube!
