rixon529
Hey Everybody. Quetion - has anyone ever tried using a Mylar insert in their baits - like the Storms have in them? (It gives that holographic reflection of light from the inside of the bait.) I believe its called a holographic metallized polyester. If anyone has tried it with any success, I'd like to know your material source, if you'd care to disclose it. Thanks in advance. And Happy New Year to everyone! VARick
I haven't done something like the Storms.. but have used fly fishing flash on a jerk bait, silver on one side and color on the other. Looks more like a lateral line in the bait. Mixed results so far, will give them a better try in the spring when I know that flash makes a difference in cloudy water. bassn1
I tried that with craft store mylar, all it did was curl up and melt when the hot plastic hit it. I'd be interested in finding the right material too...
Angler310
I too would be interested. I wounder if Senkosam would have access to mylar strips through his glitter providers??
VARick
I don't pour the plastic over the flash material. I use a sewing needle to pull it through after it has cooled. Just have to go slow to not break it and a little worm oil helps too. Unfortunately I have not been able to find long needles for the longer baits. Hope that helps.
