Mac10
I am not connected with Zoom Bait Co., but have caught a bunch of bass, largemouth and smallmouth, by doing the following. Get a pack of Zoom Ultra Vibe Speedworms in the Watermelon/Red color..(green with red glitter). Cut off the tails a half inch up from the actual hooktail. Rig the zoom speedworm body (now called a zoomie) texposed on a 2/0 offset shank worm hook and fish slowly. Cast to a likely spot near cover/structure and let the zoomie simply fall slowly to the bottom...watching line carefully. If nothing grabs it on the way down or while on the bottom...after 30 seconds, lift the lure slowly about two feet off bottom to feel for fish and let re-fall....wait 20 seconds before lifting a second time....if nothing on the second lift, reel in at a moderate speed and re-cast to another likely spot. Sometimes a high looping cast that splashes down seems to help catch fish, other times a skipping cast works well, and lastly sometimes just a low, slow and gentle cast helps. If the zoomie catches too badly in the weeds or reeds, switch to a zoom lizard in the same color and fish the same way.
