snappercoffin
Hi all found this site after much searching looking for a way to make soft plastics. I must say TOP SITE. In Australia we don't have anything like this for lure making and it is harder to find the materials to make them. I am located on Bribie Island which is in the S.E of Queensland and have a 17ft Seafarer fiberglass boat with a 75hp. We do a lot of plastic fishing in the creeks but like to more on the reef in 30-80 meters of water on 6lb braid. I will post up some pics later on some of the stuff we get. I also work for a boat building company that does custom aluminium plate boats from 4m-7.3m boats I do all of the fitout engine, electronic, plumbing etc. I will post some pics of these too. I have already put in a order with cabbells for some plain jig head hooks 3/0-5/0 and a jig head mould does 1/4-1 oz and you guys are really cheap there. I am going to start making my own plastics but cant get what you guys are talking about over here tried everywhere shipping would be to expensive. The big question is what materials is you plastic liquids made up of?????? So I may be able to duplicate the mixture. The same softness as your Zoom super flukes as they are tops on the reefs here. The colours I will order from there as weight won,t be a problem. The molds I will make here and may order some from there. Thanks Heaps Mark

Willy
I think the material is called 'vinyl plastisol'. At least that is what one bottle I have says on it. You can always melt down torn rubber baits you've usedand re-pour them, but I 'm sure you want to do better than that. Making your own is where the fun is. Best of luck, Willy
