help pouring

Recommended Posts

Mostly just a question of practice. Couple of things you can do:

1) Wipe the spout of your cup with paper towel or a slab of plastic (careful due to heat/burn risk)...this will allow you to pour a finer stream.

2) Hotter plastic will pour better...do not be afraid to re-heat while pouring.

3) Smaller volume of plastic in the cup will make it easier to pour a fine stream.

This is the method I went to after starting on stovetop with metal pans. Have poured thousands (literally) of baits with 1c and 2c pyrex. Went to hot pots because of strain on my wrists, ease of filling small cavitites, and elimination of heat on fingers/fingertips. Also have had some nasty burns from pouring with pyrex, esp while stirring, so be careful. Still use 2c and larger pyrex to fill my hot pots.
