Holmer
I have been making a few of my own baits for a couple of years now, and have had an ongoing problem that I cannot figure out on my own. I have used "Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty" and plaster of paris for molds - with either one, I tend to get bubbles in my baits. Not a bunch of bubbles (porous looking), just one or two big ones. One of my craw molds gets a big bubble in the head every time. I suspect it may have something to do with the shape of the bait funneling heat and causing bubbles, because there doesn't seem to be bubbles in my pot. I have also had this happen a lot with my bigger worm molds... I am hoping someone might have experienced this before and figured out a way to avoid it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. nova
The answer is simple. You haven't sealed your mold well enough. www.novalures.com
GB GONE
Nil is correct! Be sure to re-coat around the inside upper edges of your mold cavities. that is where mine always seems to have a bubble generating area!!! I guess the sealer runs downward sand leaves a void!!! Holmer
Thanks a lot, guys. I will try applying another coat (engine paint) and let you know how it works.
