jmik26 Posted January 9, 2007 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 I am looking for a mold for football jig heads with weed guard for 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ounce. I fish the Terminator Football jigs and really like them and hoped to get a mold similar to that. I looked at the DO-IT football jig molds but it looks like the eye is exposed, was looking for more of a recessed eye similar to terminators. basskat Posted January 9, 2007 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 I have the Do-It mold and the eye is exposed. Have caught a lot of fish on this jig. One thing, it has a thin wire hook. I've never had a problem with the thin wire and have caught lots of big fish, both smallmouth and largemouth on it and never had a hook straightened. H2Fishing Posted January 9, 2007 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 I recently bought the DO-IT football jig mold and like it a lot. I purchased mustad hooks in the begining but I don't like the bronze hooks and thought I would try the sohuri sickle hooks. With this hook it makes a pretty nasty looking jig. H2Fishing Posted January 10, 2007 Report Share Posted January 10, 2007 When you start pouring, if you first suit the inside of the mold cavaties with a candle it will make the lead flow better. Sometimes, if you are using hard lead you won't get a good pour. The collar will be left out or the head won't completely pour. Good Luck.
