unc_ross
I use to make some topwater baits on my wood lathe, but now I have no where here to do woodworking. I fish a lot with senkos of course and other soft plastics. I have been reading through these threads the last few days until my eyes feel like they are going to bleed. Some of my questions have been answered others are probably on here and I can't find them or there are so many different opinions I still don't know! A lot of people praise the del molds. I have looked at the site and they look nice but expensive. I am thinking of getting the senko style kit for around $100 with plastic, mold, colors, and glitter. Sounds like a good deal to me. Any suggestions? I have found people saying that jansnetcraft offers molds, but can't find what people think about them. I could buy several of them in different models and a couple of their injectors for the price of one mold from some of the others. I can't see the pics good enough to tell exactly what the baits look like or if they have the nice detail like the del molds seem to. I also could not find the the plastic its self on the site. I would like to try to buy from one place to help on shipping cost. Would most of you say that del is the way to go? or do you know anywhere else I can find some good deals on this stuff or package deals? GatorTom
Don't bother with the Jann's injector type molds. They are dangerous. You will burn yourself. Lurecraft has molds that are fairly cheap if you don't want to drop the money on Del's or Bob's aluminum molds yet.
charkins
Number one, stay away from Jann's molds unless you like third degree burns. I threw my injector and molds in the trash. I like Jann's, hate their molds. Number two, Del has really good senko molds. I have been using one for years. I have no trouble pouring with it. Yes, it is more expensive and yes it is worth it. Del is also very helpful if you have a problem or a question. Hope this helps you. Welcome to the world of soft plastics.
Predator Bass Baits
The cheap RTV molds , baits come out a bit dull Aluminum come out shinny. Bob's tackle shop is comeing out with the best pouring 2 piece molds and best detail molds, (Cal I hope you get that tube mold to work )
Holmer
I bought one small lizard mold from Netcraft and can't say I was very impressed with it. The injector wasn't very good, either. I used the thing to make maybe 4 baits and gave up. By the time you can inject one mold, the plastic in the injector is already too cool to squeeze out... I would not recommend it. saint308
Welcome. I would say start with a stick kit from Del. If you like it continue on. If not, you should not have any problem getting some money for the mold. Eventually you will probably be buying molds from one source, plastic from another and glitter from someone else. So, yes get the Del starter kit to get your feet wet. Hope this helps. BTW, ask any questions you have here. They have some really smart and helpful people here. Saint. HAWGHUNNA
I am thinking of getting a mold that I'm told is strictly an injection mold...are there such a thing as a safe (no )and dependable hand held injector? I really do like this mold...what are my options? Thanks guys.
charkins
Your options are buy the mold and burn yourself real bad, or forget the mold and save your skin. I speak from experience.

jmik26
I would have to say, STAY away from that injector. I was lucky enough not to burn myself but it cracked on me. I have been working with Shawn for last month on designing a craw, I think this might be the one you guys are talking about. The guy is simply amazing...... Troul Hawk
Is that mold available for purchase? I really like the look of it. Does it have the same action in the water as a Paca? The claws look like they have that triangle edge and lighter weight arms to make me think it would.
MicroSalm
A little off the subject but here is a link to some instructional videos for RTV molds. Senkos are the easiest lure to pour. jmik26
Troul Hawk - It was designed with that concept in mind. I should have the mold within a week to make some and test. I will keep you guys posted....
