balsa butcher
Was wondering if anybody knew how to make a crankbait bill with the lead insert like the old Bagleys had. I am talking about the poly deep diving bills with the line tie in the bill surrounded with lead. I can't tell if it was poured in a mold and then inserted in the bill, or poured directly on the Lexan with the wire inserted first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pete
I'd be willing to bet that the lead is poured first onto the wire. Then epoxied into a notch in the bill.
jawjacker
guys that is called a tuning button it was developed by lee sisson when he worked for bagleys it can be done by making a mold of the lip and molding it in with the wire in place to keep everything in line thus the name tuning button:yeah:
balsa butcher
Thanks, Jawjacker. Any ideas how to make a mold for that? How careful do you need to be to keep from burning the Lexan with the molten lead?
