Bullsbug
I just signed up here at TU, and after browsing some of the threads my interest was peaked by the fluid bed method for powder painting. I've been making jigs for several years and I have been heating my jigs in a toaster oven and then dipping one at a time in the paint. How does a fluid bed work and what are the advantages over my method.
rsinyard
Let me be the first to welcome you to TU. I started out dipping my jigs in the 2oz jar but I always got a different coat on each jig. With a fluid bed, you get a more even coat because it fluffs the paint in the cup and it doesn't pack down like a jar will. I got mine from dayooper (a member here) and I have been very satisfied. His website is www.tjstackle.com I think. Ron
charkins
A fluid bed uses less paint and gives more even coverage. It also leaves the eyes of jigs free of paint, even down to 1/64th. Well worth the money. You can buy one for the price of the paint you save. Dayooper has a good one at TJ's Tackle
