Shmang
Is the 5 gallon cap wrench necessary when buying the 5 gallon jugs from MF?Thank you, Tim I just use a large set of channel locks and it does a good job of opening the cap for me so no I dont think special tools are necessary. I got another 5gallon pail yesterday and I am going thru it like a mad man trying to get orders caught up. Take care
rxfish
Shmang is right, channel locks work perfect. Its easier to work with if you transfer plastic into 1 gallon milk containers and pour from them.
Richard Prager
M-F sells a faucet for $3.20 that screws right into the 5 gallon jug. It's one of the best purchases I've made. It will make your life a lot easier. http://www.fishingworld.com/M-F-Manufacturing/Details.tmpl?ID=983481604142178&Cart=116961492032141691
TAE73
You can also go to any hardware store and purchase a ball valve that work too.

saint308
I get mine straight from MF in 5 gallons. Cost is some where around $120 to my door. Saint.
dsmblack
Is the faucet easy to attach? Does it leak? I have considered trying the M-F plastic.
Predator Bass Baits
You just need to knock out the space were the faucet goes, I use a screw driver and hammer. it does not leak.

Not a drop and I've used the same faucet for many jugs already.
azbass
I just use a strap wrench and dispense into 1/2 gal containers because I premix and store my colors in 1/2 gal rubbermaid containers w/pour spouts.
harley-cowboy
Like mentioned above... I just use channel locks too. The faucet is the only way to go.... not a drop leaks out. I buy my M-F plastic in 55 gallon drums and transfer them into 5 gallon containers...then into 1 gal jugs as needed. When I break it down.. it is much cheaper to buy a 55 gallon drum. a 5 gal container breaks down roughly to $19 a gallon. A 55 gallon drum roughly breaks down to $13 a gallon. These are w/o shipping costs.
TTDuckman
Guys, Thank you for all of the replys. I have used 3 of the 4 brands of plastic that I am aware of and MF is the only one that I haven't used. I have been pouring for about 15 months I have yet to find a plastic that has all of the qualities I want. I want: 1. Good flexibility while retaining durability 2. No or little memory 3. No bubbles 4. Less smell while cooking Of the 3 that I have used, 2 has three of these qualities, 1 has 2 of these qualities. How does both the MF regular and super soft rank in your minds on these qualities? Thank you, Tim
Shmang
I have switched 100% over to MF Plastic the past year and have never looked back. Robert and the gang are first rate folks with a superior product. I use the Super Soft formula and my customers love it. It is soft yet durable, has excellent "flex" , and is easy to use. My wife loves that it is not smelly or smoky like some of the other brands. Trust me if she approves of it that is a good thing as she can be pretty critical if the house stinks or is smoky. My sales has taken off since i went to MF. Instead of a few gallons a year I am up to 5 gallons a month and my next purchase will be 55 gallons. Nothing against the other brands at all it is just that MF for me is the best choice. Take care
rxfish
I use MF 100% of the time as well. As for stink, they all give off an odor and wouldn't consider pouring anything in the house. I will probably switch to the 55 gallons as well. This is probably overkill but I bought an ambient air pump, 50 foot of hose and a full face mask to wear in my shop. The pump is placed outside or in the garage depending on the weather and I receive fresh air the whole time I pour. I have tried various half masks and don't receive the protection I get from this setup. It wasn't cheap, but its tough to fish when your dead.
